Triumph! Support Dog Finally Reunites with Autistic Girl in Portugal After Three Failed Attempts
Support Dog Teddy's Emotional Journey to Portugal Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – In a heartwarming conclusion to a weeks-long saga, Teddy, a support dog vital to the well-being of 12-year-old autistic girl Alice, finally arrived in Lisbon, Portugal on Friday. Alice and her family had been in Portugal since early April, but three previous attempts to bring Teddy along had failed due to bureaucratic snafus and airline issues. The first attempt saw Teddy's ticket inexplicably cancelled 24 hours before departure due to alleged issues with his documentation. A second attempt, with Alice's sister Hayanne and a court order, was denied because Teddy wasn't traveling with Alice. A third attempt was thwarted by a last-minute injunction. "It was incredibly stressful," said Renato Sá, Alice's father, a physician. "We were desperate to get Teddy to Alice." The successful journey involved negotiations between the family, TAP Air Portugal, and the Brazilian Ministry of Ports and Airports. The ministry ultimately facilitated Teddy's travel with his trainer, Ricardo Cazarotte, who is permitted to travel with Teddy in the cabin. The video shows Teddy, calm and collected, passing through airport security, a testament to his training and the relief of his family. The story ends on a happy note, highlighting the importance of support animals and the determination of a family to keep their daughter's well-being a priority.
