Bomb Scare at Curitiba Art Museum: Unattended Backpack Triggers Emergency Response
A bomb scare unfolded at Curitiba's Municipal Museum of Art (MuMA) on Friday morning, May 30, 2025, after a museum employee discovered an unattended backpack. The employee, Milton, recounted, "I was doing my cleaning outside the building when I saw the backpack. I remembered a similar incident at Capão Raso Terminal, so I immediately called 911." The area around MuMA was quickly cordoned off, and the bomb squad deployed a robot to investigate the suspicious package. The incident caused a temporary disruption, with only buses allowed to pass along the street adjacent to the museum. The swift response of authorities prevented any potential harm and ensured the safety of the public. The backpack was found to contain no dangerous materials.
