Puma Rescued from Construction Site in Itu, Brazil
A puma rescue operation took place on Friday, May 30th, at a fishing pond under construction in Itu, São Paulo, Brazil. The young female puma was found debilitated and injured after falling into the construction site. The Corpo de Bombeiros (fire department) and the Municipal Environment Secretariat called in the Núcleo da Floresta (Cras) in São Roque for assistance. A rescuer described the scene: "We found her very weak. We don't yet know what happened to her, why she's in this state." The puma was sedated and carefully removed. It was transported to a rehabilitation center for treatment and care. This successful rescue highlights the importance of wildlife conservation and the collaborative efforts of various organizations.
