Ukraine Strikes Crimean Bridge: Underwater Explosives Used in Audacious Attack
Ukraine's attack on the Crimean bridge using underwater explosives has once again highlighted the ongoing conflict. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) released images of the explosion, claiming responsibility for the operation. According to the SBU, the attack involved months of preparation and utilized 1100kg of TNT. The SBU head, Lieutenant-General Vasyl Maliuk, stated, “The Crimean bridge is an absolutely legitimate target, especially considering that the enemy uses it as a logistical artery to supply its troops. Crimea is Ukraine, and any manifestation of [Russian] occupation will receive a harsh response from us.” The attack comes two days after a drone attack on Russian warplanes. The Russian government has not yet commented on the incident. The destruction of the bridge further underscores the intensity of the conflict and the determination of both sides.
