Rooftop Thief's Daring Escape Ends in Arrest in Uberlândia

A 20-year-old man was arrested in Uberlândia, Brazil, on Monday afternoon after a daring but unsuccessful attempt to escape across rooftops following a house burglary. The incident, captured by residents on their phones, quickly went viral on social media. According to police, they received a call about a suspect fleeing across rooftops after a theft. "We quickly set up a perimeter and found him hiding in a bathroom," a police officer stated. The stolen goods, which included various items, were recovered and returned to the homeowner, a 55-year-old man. One resident, who filmed part of the chase, commented, "There he is, look! I'm recording him, showing his face, the shameless thief!" The suspect was taken to the police station and remains in custody.
