License Plate Mystery in Ribeira: Twenty Stolen in Broad Daylight

Ribeira, a town in Galicia, Spain, was recently the scene of a puzzling crime. On Sunday morning, May 15th, 2025, residents of the Canteira and Valle-Inclán streets discovered that twenty license plates had been stolen from their cars. The National Police are investigating the incident. One resident stated, "My mother went to get the car and noticed the license plate was missing." Another resident added, "I saw a young woman calling the police about a stolen license plate, and then I saw seven or eight more cars in a row without plates." While some residents believe it was vandalism, others fear the plates will be used fraudulently. The affected residents have reported the thefts and replaced their plates.
