Twenty drivers of motor pumps from Ourense's forest districts are participating in a course at Antela Airfield, focusing on new techniques and equipment. "The objective is to professionalize these drivers and give them the maximum possible tools so that there are no incidents during the anti-fire campaign," explained Jesús Pazos, an instructor for the course. The training includes hands-on experience with new four-stroke engine pick-up trucks and retardant foam. Drivers are also learning how to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
