Galicia Opens In-Person Tax Filing: Record Number of Returns Expected
Galicia Opens In-Person Tax Filing: Residents Can Now Submit Returns in Person Galicia, Spain - Starting today, June 1st, 2025, residents of Galicia have the option to file their income tax returns in person. This follows a two-month online filing period that began earlier this year. The Agencia Tributaria de Galicia, the regional tax agency, anticipates receiving 24.57 million declarations this year, a 3.1% increase over the previous year. To file in person, taxpayers must first schedule an appointment online. Additionally, there are income restrictions: individuals must not have exceeded €80,000 in gross income from employment and €20,000 in capital gains. "This year we're seeing a slight increase in the number of tax returns," explains a spokesperson for the Agencia Tributaria. "We encourage taxpayers to take advantage of both the online and in-person options to ensure a smooth filing process." The in-person filing period runs until June 30th. The increase in declarations suggests a growing confidence in the Galician economy and a positive outlook for the region.
