Fire Destroys Cangas Apartment, Killing Parakeet A fire in Cangas, Galicia, on June 13, 2025, completely destroyed a flat and resulted in the death of a pet parakeet. The incident occurred in a building near the beach. Thankfully, the tenant was not at home when the fire broke out. Firefighters from the Morrazo Provincial Fire Park responded to the blaze. Rubén Sío, a firefighter at the scene, stated, "The fire was spreading through the windows; we went in with breathing equipment. The kitchen and bedroom were the worst affected areas, and sadly, there was a parakeet that perished." The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
