MTN Heroes of Change: Celebrating Compassionate Leadership in Ghana

Accra, Ghana – June 1, 2025 – The 7th annual MTN Heroes of Change awards ceremony took place recently, celebrating ten outstanding individuals making significant contributions to Ghanaian society. The event's welcome address, delivered by MTN Ghana CEO Stephen Blewett, highlighted the inspiring work of the nominees. "These heroes are writing a very powerful narrative," Blewett stated, emphasizing their commitment despite personal challenges. One nominee, Diana Adjetey, used her award money to build a hostel for young girls seeking free skills training. Another, Rhoda Wedam, expanded her community work from a single savings and loans group to three, employing 20 people and acquiring three acres of land. The MTN Heroes of Change initiative, launched in 2013, continues to inspire positive transformation across Ghana.
