Snake in the City: Harmless Reptile Creates a Stir in Niš Apartment

A harmless snake created a stir in a Niš resident's home on June 4th, 2025. The reptile found its way into the apartment in the Deliški Vis neighborhood, surprising the resident who was working on his computer. "I couldn't believe what I saw," said the resident, describing the unexpected visitor. Zoo Planet, a local wildlife rescue organization, responded swiftly. Ana Miladinović, a volunteer with Zoo Planet, explained, "With rising temperatures, it's not unusual to see snakes in urban areas." Miladinović and her team safely captured the snake, identified as a non-venomous steppe snake, and released it back into its natural habitat.
