Crypto King and Accomplice Arrested in Brutal NYC Kidnapping
A shocking cryptocurrency kidnapping case has unfolded in New York City, leaving a 28-year-old Italian man traumatized and two suspects in custody. John Woeltz, dubbed the "Crypto King of Kentucky," and Swiss crypto investor William Duplessis are accused of holding the victim captive for three weeks in a SoHo townhouse. The victim, possibly a former business partner, was threatened, beaten, shocked, and even dangled over a staircase. "They wanted my Bitcoin password," the victim stated in a police report. The ordeal ended when the victim cleverly tricked Woeltz into leaving the room, allowing him to escape and alert authorities. Police discovered disturbing evidence inside the townhouse, including weapons, body armor, and Polaroids of the victim with a gun to his head. Both suspects are currently being held without bail. This case highlights the dark side of the cryptocurrency world and the lengths some will go to for financial gain.
