Kanlaon Volcano Remains at Alert Level 3 Negros Island, Philippines – May 15, 2025 – Kanlaon Volcano continues to show signs of unrest, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). The volcano remains at Alert Level 3, indicating a relatively high level of activity. The increased activity has impacted some travel to and from Mactan-Cebu International Airport. "The volcano's activity remains a cause for concern," stated a PHIVOLCS spokesperson. "We continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as they become available." Residents near the volcano are urged to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of local authorities. PHIVOLCS will continue to issue updates as the situation evolves.
