Massive Shabu Bust in Pampanga: Over P680 Million Worth of Drugs Seized
Pampanga Drug Bust: Over P680 Million Worth of Shabu Seized Authorities in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines, recently made a significant drug bust, seizing over P680 million worth of shabu. The illegal substance was cleverly concealed inside tea bags, highlighting the sophisticated methods employed by drug traffickers. A 31-year-old Chinese national and his 24-year-old Filipina companion were apprehended during the operation. Police are investigating their connection to larger drug networks operating in the region. In a separate operation in Norzagaray, Bulacan, another 30 kilos of shabu, also packaged in tea bags, were confiscated. Three suspects—two women and one man—were arrested in this buy-bust operation. Police Chief PLTCOL Ismael Gauna stated that the suspects were likely part of a larger syndicate. "The use of tea bags to conceal the drugs shows a level of planning and sophistication," said PDEA Region 3 Director Jigger Montallana. "This underscores the ongoing challenges in combating drug trafficking in the country." These successful operations demonstrate the commitment of Philippine law enforcement to disrupting drug trafficking activities and protecting communities.
