
Philippines Faces Extreme Heat, Heavy Rains as ITCZ and Easterlies Converge

According to GMA Integrated News, 28 areas are expected to experience a heat index of 42 to 45 degrees Celsius, while another 23 areas will face a heat index of 42 to 44 degrees Celsius. "The easterlies, or hot winds, are also continuously affecting Metro Manila and other parts of the Philippines," reported a GMA newscaster. The report also forecasts rain in various regions, including Mimaropa, Caraga, and Davao regions, as well as Ilocos Region, Central Visayas, and almost all of Mindanao throughout the weekend. The public is advised to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the extreme heat and potential rain-related hazards.
