Massive Fire in Quiapo, Manila Leaves 100+ Families Homeless

A major fire broke out in Quiapo, Manila on June 4, 2025, at approximately 6:41 PM, leaving over 100 families without homes and one firefighter injured. The GMA Integrated News report showed the intense blaze engulfing multiple closely-packed residential buildings. One resident, Noraida Maunga, described the scene in tears, "Wala kaming naligtas na gamit!" (We couldn't save any of our belongings!). Fire Inspector Cesar Babante of BFP Manila Station 2 explained the difficulties faced by firefighters due to the complex structure of the buildings. Despite the challenges, the fire was eventually extinguished, and the injured firefighter is reportedly in stable condition. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
