Grodno Zoo's heartwarming tale: Elderly fox adopts orphaned cubs. Grodno, Belarus – In a heartwarming turn of events at the Grodno Zoo, an older female fox named Jasmine has shown remarkable maternal instincts by adopting two orphaned fox cubs. The cubs, Luka and Ida, were rescued and brought to the zoo with injuries and trauma from relocation. Initially, they were aggressive and fearful, but zookeepers decided to introduce them to Jasmine, an older resident fox. 'We were hesitant at first,' said Elena Komorets, a zookeeper involved in the rescue. 'But Jasmine's reaction surprised us all.' The video shows Jasmine gently interacting with the cubs, licking and comforting them. The cubs, initially wary, quickly responded to Jasmine's care, becoming more playful and relaxed. 'It's a testament to the innate maternal instincts of animals,' added Svetlana Repnikov, another zookeeper. The three foxes are currently residing in the zoo's veterinary building, but they will soon be moved to the 'Grandmother's Courtyard,' where visitors can observe them firsthand. This heartwarming story serves as a reminder of the unexpected capacity for compassion and care found in the animal kingdom.
