Makó, Hungary – Hungarian rapper Attila Széki, widely known as Curtis, recently shared insights into his deep connection with the city of Makó and the origins of his hit song 'Maradunk végig' during an interview at the Makó Onion Festival. Despite challenging weather conditions, with rain making September feel like November, the festival’s main square was reportedly full for his performance. 'I really come home here,' Curtis stated, highlighting his bond with Makó, partly due to a close friend residing in the city. He revealed that 'Maradunk végig,' a song that topped radio charts for 56 weeks, was penned in Makó during the COVID-19 pandemic. 'We spent about three days partying with my friend Laci Kurai, and I don't know how many liters of pálinka were consumed, but the song was successful,' he recounted. The artist also expressed immense gratitude to the audience and the festival staff, emphasizing that the positive reception validates the significant effort, time, and resources invested in their production. 'I'm just grateful that so many people came,' he added. The interviewer noted her surprise at the large crowd given the inclement weather, attributing it to Curtis's personal charisma. Curtis also shared a unique pre-performance superstition: always starting a few minutes before or after the scheduled time, never precisely on the hour.
