Gardening Enthusiast Reveals "Secret" to Endless Rosemary and Lavender from Cuttings

In a recent online video, gardening enthusiast 'Hygge Haven' shared a practical guide on propagating rosemary and lavender from cuttings, a method she claims allows for an 'unlimited' supply of these popular herbs at no cost. The video, which has garnered significant attention, outlines a simple process for home gardeners. According to Hygge Haven, the key to successful propagation lies in selecting 4-6 inch softwood cuttings, preferably taken in the fall before frost or in early spring. "You're going to remove all those bottom leaves," she instructed, demonstrating the technique. The cuttings are then to be planted in a well-draining soil mixture, ideally containing perlite and peat moss. "Make sure this is well-draining soil," she advised, emphasizing the importance of keeping the soil moist but not soggy. The video further detailed the rooting process, noting that rosemary typically takes 4-8 weeks to root, while lavender can root in as little as 2-6 weeks. Once roots are established, the young plants can be transplanted into larger pots and gradually hardened off before being moved outdoors. The creator also offered a free gardening guide through a link in her bio, encouraging viewers to start their own propagation efforts. The method offers an accessible way for individuals to expand their herb gardens without incurring additional costs.
