Vienna, Austria - The vibrant streets of Vienna came alive on June 16, 2025, as the city hosted its annual Pride parade. Amidst a sea of rainbow flags and enthusiastic participants, a journalist from ORF conducted interviews to capture the spirit of the event. Among those interviewed were two strikingly dressed drag performers, radiating joy and color. When asked about the significance of Pride, one participant enthusiastically stated, "Everything here is for joy!" They further elaborated on the deeper meaning of their presence, highlighting the importance of collective unity and fighting for love. "We want to remember things that are happening in the world, and we stand here for togetherness and want to fight for love, because that is the only way to make a better world," one of them explained, pointing to a black ribbon worn as a symbol of remembrance. "We may shine, but we are a bit bruised." Their message resonated with the celebratory yet reflective atmosphere of the parade, emphasizing both the joy of self-expression and the ongoing struggles for equality.
