A flight traveling over Canada was unexpectedly diverted to St. John, Newfoundland, on July 28, 2025, following a mid-air medical emergency. The pilot informed passengers that the diversion was necessary to provide urgent medical care to a passenger, as no doctor was available on board to assist. In an unusual announcement, the captain later updated passengers on the situation, revealing details about the passenger's reaction. "You'll be happy to know to learn that our passenger, which we saved her life, she was a bit angry to be offloaded with the aircraft," the pilot stated. He further added, "She gave us the finger when leaving the aircraft, and she's still being very angry at the hospital." The pilot concluded his announcement with a concise, "That's it." Upon landing in St. John, emergency vehicles, including fire trucks and an ambulance, were seen on the tarmac awaiting the aircraft. The passenger was subsequently offloaded and transported to a local hospital for further care.
