DoorDash Driver Fired After Pulling Weapon on Customer Over Tip
DoorDash driver in Washington, D.C., pulled a weapon on a customer who tipped him via the app instead of cash. The incident, captured on video, shows the driver confronting the customer, who had ordered food the previous day. The driver was reportedly upset about receiving an in-app tip rather than cash. The customer's daughter witnessed the confrontation and alerted her father, who then engaged with the driver. A scuffle ensued, resulting in the driver being disarmed. DoorDash has confirmed a zero-tolerance policy for such behavior and has deactivated the driver's account. "DoorDash has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind. What happened was unacceptable and the Dasher involved was immediately deactivated," a DoorDash spokesperson said. The incident highlights concerns about safety and customer interactions within the gig economy.
