Jeffery Mead strongly condemned these reactions, stating, "This is the same side that claims they're morally superior than everybody else... These people are hypocrites and they're disgusting." He further elaborated on his view of political messaging, asserting, "A lot of the Democrats messaging, it's not about attacking the point you're making, they attack the person. They call them a demon, they call them Hitler, they say they're horrible, racist, bigoted, homophobic. They demonize their opponents to the point where people feel happy if a 31-year-old is shot in the neck and killed in broad daylight because they politically disagreed with him."
