"Already helped my marriage in 1 minute of watching": Millennial man's self-own…
"I wish my husband could see this without me sending it to him."
In a candid online confession, content creator J Fisher recently opened up about his past struggles with understanding equitable partnership within his marriage and fatherhood. Titled "Chronicles of a Clueless Husband: Part I," Fisher detailed how he once expected his wife to manage all household and child-related preparations for family trips, while he solely focused on his own needs. Fisher recounted instances where his partner would handle tasks like laundry, vacuuming, and packing for the entire family, while he would simply prepare his own bag with personal items like clothes and books. He reflected on this behavior, noting it was a pattern he observed from his own father, but acknowledged it was fundamentally flawed. "Looking back, what?! How could I possibly think that was okay?" Fisher stated in the video, expressing his disbelief at his past mindset. He emphasized the necessity of unlearning such ingrained expectations, asserting that an unequal division of labor is detrimental to a true partnership. "If you are a person, especially if you're a man, and you think that division of labor is okay, like you, you shouldn't be married. Like you shouldn't be in a relationship. And I shouldn't have been at that point in time," he concluded, advocating for shared responsibilities and mutual support in relationships.
