In a recent social media post, Ghazali, known for his prowess in the ring, criticized the trend of individuals with minimal training attempting to gain fame in Muay Thai, along with organizers employing what he termed "cheap marketing" tactics. "It's truly embarrassing now," Ghazali stated in his video. "There are so many influencers, celebrities, and people who train for only two or three weeks and then want to step into the ring. You want to fight, you want to pretend to be a fighter, that's up to you. But when you enter Muay Thai, please maintain ethics and manners. Don't bring your foolish behavior here." Ghazali specifically called out event organizers, alleging that many today lack proper ethics. He emphasized the detrimental impact of such behavior on the sport's reputation, especially in Malaysia. "How can we, as Muay Thai athletes, advance in Malaysia if we keep joining these silly fights, cheap marketing, fighting with celebrities and influencers?" he questioned. While acknowledging that such events might generate revenue and publicity, he stressed the importance of not going "overboard." "I have worked hard to elevate this sport," Ghazali asserted, urging all involved to "use their brains" and ensure everything is clear and transparent, rather than exploiting others' images for self-promotion. His comments resonate with many in the combat sports community who advocate for preserving the integrity and traditional values of Muay Thai.
