Kumasi, Ghana, braces for rainy season with proactive flood prevention measures. Ashanti Regional NADMO has launched a 12-day operation to desilt 17 major drains in the Greater Kumasi Metropolis. The initiative, which began at the Pelele stream near the Kumasi Airport, aims to prevent widespread flooding. "This is part of strategic measures to prevent a full-blown flooding situation in the region as the rainy season sets in," stated an official from Ashanti Regional NADMO.
