
Ghana Opens Fashion Hub for People with Disabilities
KUMASI, GHANA – June 3, 2025 – In a heartwarming ceremony today, the "Make Fashion Inclusive" Hub officially opened its doors in Kumasi. This training center, a joint venture between the German development agency GIZ and Ghana's Youth Employment Agency (YEA), offers vocational training to people with disabilities in various fashion-related fields. The event was attended by numerous dignitaries, including Mr. Malik Basintale, CEO of YEA, who stated, "This is a landmark initiative that brings opportunity, dignity, and empowerment." A trainee, speaking at the event, added, "We thank our teachers for their patience in helping us learn at our own pace." The hub is equipped with modern sewing machines and offers training in design, embroidery, beading, and millinery. This initiative is a testament to Ghana's commitment to inclusivity and economic empowerment for all its citizens.
