Returned POWs Reveal Horrific Russian Torture
The bodies of Ukrainian journalist Viktoria Roshchyna and US Army veteran Alex Drukey were returned to their families after being held as prisoners of war in Russia. Ms. Roshchyna's body arrived in Ukraine missing her brain, eyes, and larynx. The Guardian reported additional injuries consistent with torture. Alex Drukey's release showed severe facial injuries. "His face is marked up because for 24 hours the Russians kept him and other prisoners in the back of a truck with their eyes covered tightly with packing tape," said a family member. The Drukey family is determined to share Alex's story, and his mother said, "We want the world to know what monsters the Russians are."
