MINSK, BELARUS – The Italian visa center in Belarus has announced the closure of its 'live queue' system for visa applications, effective immediately. The decision, communicated via a notice posted at the center, states that only individuals who received temporary numbers on September 17th and 18th, 2025, will be processed until September 30th. New registrations for the live queue have been suspended, and potential reserve spots are reportedly exhausted. The move comes amidst a significant surge in demand for Schengen visas, coupled with reduced processing capacities at various embassies and visa centers. An expert on visa applications, who shared insights on the situation, noted, "This situation was super expected. The number of people wishing to apply for a visa far exceeds the available slots, especially with many embassies and visa centers operating with reduced capacity." She added, "When Italy offers such an opportunity, it's impossible not to expect chaos." The expert advised applicants to monitor official announcements from the visa center for any updates regarding future registration possibilities.
