'Jon & Kate Plus 8' star Kate Gosselin revealed what she would have named the baby she miscarried during her sextuplet pregnancy.
Hershey, PA – In an emotional fourth part of her fertility and birth journey, reality TV personality Kate Gosselin has shared intimate details of her sextuplet pregnancy, including the early loss of one embryo and the subsequent challenges. Gosselin, known for the hit show 'Jon & Kate Plus 8', revealed that an initial ultrasound at six weeks showed seven babies, but one embryo stopped growing shortly thereafter. This revelation came amidst a series of medical emergencies, including a bleeding incident that sent her to the emergency room, fearing a complete miscarriage. "I was really, really scared," Gosselin stated, describing the moment an ultrasound confirmed six heartbeats. "That was the moment I knew that I was committed to these babies because I realized the relief and I started sobbing that came over me." The video also delves into the premature birth of her sextuplets on May 10th, with babies born within two minutes of each other. Gosselin recounted her arduous recovery from a C-section, which left her with minimal muscle tone, making the long walk to the NICU feel like a marathon. She detailed the babies' time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, noting that while most were healthy, Aiden faced a serious condition called necrotizing enterocolitis. The family eventually moved into a donated timeshare condo in Hershey to be closer to the hospital. Gosselin concluded by sharing the precise birth weights of each child—Alexis (2 lbs 11.5 oz), Hannah (2 lbs 11 oz), Aiden (2 lbs 7.5 oz), Collin (3 lbs 0.5 oz), Leah (2 lbs 14.8 oz), and Joel (2 lbs 9.7 oz)—and the staggered dates of their homecoming, starting June 30th.
