Educator Shares Struggle with Enabling Parent and Student Behavior
A teacher, known online as Ms.Destinee👑, recently shared her significant frustrations regarding a student and their "most enabling parent" encountered this academic year. In a video uploaded on September 18, 2025, the educator detailed a recurring issue where a student frequently leaves her classroom without permission, sometimes multiple times a day.According to Ms.Destinee👑, her attempts to communicate these behavioral concerns to the student's parent have been met with responses that shift responsibility away from the child. "She asked me, 'So that means you don't know where he is?'" the teacher recounted, referring to an instance where she informed the parent about the student leaving class. The parent's subsequent suggestions included that the teacher "probably didn't explain the material good enough," that the student "probably needed your help and you weren't paying attention to him," or that the teacher should "keep him entertained long enough that he wouldn't wanna leave."The teacher also reported an unusual suggestion from the parent: "And that we need to designate a classroom for him when he wants to walk out so he can be by himself during the school day." Ms.Destinee👑 emphasized her belief that her efforts to manage the student's behavior are undermined by a lack of consistent consequences or encouragement at home, stating, "There’s absolutely no consequence or encouragement I could give this child to do better if he goes home and is rewarded for bad behavior." She concludes that this dynamic makes both her immediate life and the student's future "harder."
