Fact-Checkers Address Tulsi Gabbard's Claims on Obama and 2016 Russia Report A recent video by online commentators Brian & Ed Krassenstein has directly challenged claims made by former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard regarding the Obama administration and Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Gabbard reportedly asserted that then-President Barack Obama concealed a December 2016 intelligence report concerning Russia's actions and subsequently produced a "manufactured" public report containing false information to align with his political agenda. The Krassensteins, known for their work in combating misinformation, presented a counter-narrative. They clarified that the initial December 2016 report was classified and intended solely for senior White House officials. Following this, an unclassified version, known as the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), was released to the public. According to the Krassensteins, both the classified and unclassified reports reached consistent conclusions: Russian President Vladimir Putin directly orchestrated an interference campaign aimed at benefiting Donald Trump and harming Hillary Clinton. This campaign reportedly involved cyberattacks, information leaks, and propaganda efforts. Crucially, the fact-checkers emphasized that neither report found any evidence of vote tampering in the 2016 election. The Krassensteins suggested that Gabbard's allegations might serve as a distraction from other ongoing public discussions.
