Norwalk Mother Alleges Stalking, Criticizes Police Inaction on Child Safety
Norwalk, CA – A local mother from Norwalk has publicly shared her distressing experience regarding a man she suspects of stalking her children, expressing deep frustration over what she describes as police inaction. In a recent video, the woman recounted multiple incidents involving an individual she claims has been observing her children in a local park and later appearing near her residence. According to the mother, despite her repeated calls to law enforcement, authorities informed her they were unable to intervene. "They said they couldn't do anything because he's at the curb, he never stepped on your property," she stated in the video, referring to the man's proximity to her home. She further explained that police indicated they would need the individual to come to her home three times before a stalking incident report could be filed, potentially leading to a 90-day stay-away order. The mother expressed her dismay at this legal limitation, stating, "So they gonna wait till something happen to the kids before doing anything to this grown ass man. This is all the way backwards." She detailed her efforts to inform neighbors about the situation and her continued calls to the sheriff's department each time the man reappeared. Despite securing a 90-day stay-away order, she was reportedly denied a permanent one by the Whittier Courthouse because the man "never laid hands on me, he never threatened me, and he never stepped on my property." The woman concluded by noting that the man returned to the park the very next day after the temporary order. This incident raises significant concerns among residents about the adequacy of current laws in protecting children from potential threats.
