New Push for Forest Search in Delphine Jubillar Case
In the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar, a new development has emerged. Me Pauline Rongier, the lawyer for a close friend of Delphine, is calling for renewed searches in a wood near Mirandol-Bourgnounac, approximately 20 kilometers from the couple's home. This area was previously searched in spring 2021, but the search was deemed 'rather summary' according to Me Rongier. The basis for this renewed request is the geolocation data from Cédric Jubillar's phone, which was recorded as being in the vicinity of the wood on seven occasions between 12:24 pm and 1:10 pm the day before Delphine's disappearance. However, the reliability of this data is contested by the judges due to uncertainties about its source. 'The judges had serious doubts about the reliability of these geographic coordinates,' explained Alexandre Ferrer, a journalist with La Dépêche du Midi. Despite the instruction being closed, Me Rongier's request is legally possible, even during the trial. The final decision rests with the presiding judge of the Tarn Assizes Court. The case continues to generate significant public interest and raises important questions about the thoroughness of previous investigations.
