Peruvian Coast Braces for Cold Wave: Senamhi Issues Warning
A cold wave is expected to hit the Peruvian coast from May 22-25. The National Meteorological and Hydrological Service of Peru (Senamhi) has issued a warning about the drop in temperature, predicting intense cold, light rain, and fog, especially at night and in the early morning hours. The Senamhi's report indicates that the cold wave is due to a drop in sea temperature and an increase in southern winds. "The sensation of cold will be most intense in the mornings," stated the Senamhi in their report. Temperature ranges are expected to be between 14°C and 16°C in Lima, 9°C and 16°C in Ica, and 15°C and 17°C in Lambayeque. The Senamhi recommends that people take precautions, such as dressing warmly and reinforcing their homes against the cold winds. This timely warning allows residents to prepare for the upcoming weather event, ensuring their safety and well-being during the cold snap.
