
Deadly Shootout on Lima's Vía Expresa Leaves Two Criminals Dead
A deadly shootout between Peruvian police and criminals on Vía Expresa in Lima resulted in two deaths and one arrest. The incident unfolded during a police operation targeting the criminal organization 'Los Injertos del Centro'. Police confirmed that two of the three suspects involved in the intense exchange of gunfire died early Thursday morning. The surviving suspect, Eduardo Kevin Quiñones Del Piélago, alias 'Kevin', was taken into custody and transferred to the Dirincri. General Óscar Arriola, Chief of Staff of the National Police, stated that the three individuals were involved in multiple crimes in the districts of San Luis, Lince, Miraflores, Surco, and Jesús María. The vehicle used by the suspects was reported stolen, and police found five cloned license plates, documents, and a firearm inside. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of Peruvian law enforcement to combat organized crime.
