Galician Students Design Drones to Deliver Medicine to Remote Areas
Galician Students' Innovative Drones Aim to Revolutionize Rural Healthcare A group of 180 second-year ESO students in Galicia, Spain, recently participated in the Liga Maker Drone competition, showcasing their innovative drone designs. Their ambitious goal: to create a drone capable of delivering essential medicine to remote and hard-to-reach areas. The project, a collaboration between Fundación Barrié and the ITG technology center, highlights the potential of technology to improve healthcare access. "We've been working on this since October," explained one student, "but the final solution required changes in the last two weeks." The students faced significant challenges, initially opting for a less robust design before refining their approach. Another student added, "It was quite challenging at first. Our initial system of sticks proved unreliable." The video showcases the students' ingenuity and dedication. Their final designs demonstrate a functional system for transporting medical supplies, offering a glimpse into a future where drones could play a vital role in improving healthcare access in underserved communities. The success of this project underscores the importance of fostering innovation and collaboration in education.
