La DGT se pone muy seria: 3.000 euros por no llevar esto en el coche
Es obligatorio aunque un 15% de los conductores no lo tienen y les puede salir muy caro
Madrid, Spain – A recent video by legal expert ‘Lawtips’ has brought attention to a critical aspect of Spanish vehicle law: the mandatory civil liability insurance for all motor vehicles. According to the expert, every motor vehicle in Spain is legally required to possess civil liability insurance, irrespective of whether it is actively being driven or is merely parked. This obligation extends to vehicles located in both public and private spaces. ‘Lawtips’ highlighted the severe financial consequences of non-compliance, stating that fines for lacking this insurance can reach up to €3,000, depending on the specific characteristics of the vehicle and the circumstances. He further emphasized the widespread impact of this regulation, noting that an estimated 2.6 million Spaniards could potentially face such penalties. Annually, approximately 130,000 fines are issued for this specific violation. The only exception to this mandatory insurance requirement, as explained in the video, is if a vehicle has been officially deregistered. Vehicle owners are advised to ensure their compliance to avoid substantial financial penalties.
