Kazakhstan's New Online ID System: No More Queues!
Kazakhstan Launches Online ID Replacement Service Kazakhstan has taken a significant step towards modernizing its government services with the launch of a pilot project for online ID replacement. This initiative, a collaboration between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Development, allows citizens to renew their identification documents entirely online, eliminating the need for lengthy visits to government offices. The online service is accessible through the eGov.kz website and the Mgov mobile application. To be eligible, citizens must apply within 30 days of their ID's expiration or within 10 days of its expiry. The process involves submitting an application, uploading a photograph and signature, verifying personal details, and paying the state fee. The service also offers an expedited option for those needing quicker processing. "This new system is a game-changer," said a government official involved in the project. "It significantly reduces wait times and streamlines the entire process, saving citizens valuable time and effort." The convenience of this service is expected to be particularly beneficial for those in remote areas or with limited mobility. The successful implementation of this pilot project could pave the way for similar online services for other government documents and transactions, further enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of public services in Kazakhstan.
