
Dog Attack Leaves Girl, 7, Hospitalized; Two Men Arrested in Kirkby
A dog attack in Kirkby, Merseyside, on Thursday, May 29, left a seven-year-old girl and a 22-year-old woman with serious injuries. The girl required emergency surgery after suffering bite wounds to her arm and leg. The woman sustained puncture wounds to her leg, arm, and hand while trying to intervene. Merseyside Police confirmed today that the seven-year-old girl remains in hospital. A 54-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, both from Southdene, Kirkby, were arrested on suspicion of being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury. The 54-year-old man also faces charges related to the production of cannabis. Merseyside Police added that both men have been bailed pending further inquiries. "This was a distressing incident," a Merseyside Police spokesperson stated, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation and the ongoing investigation.
