From Pop Charts to Academia: A Family's Journey of Music, Education, and Dreams

In a recent social media post, influencer Lyric Medeiros offered a unique glimpse into her family's extraordinary background, revealing that her father was a prominent 80s pop singer. During a "Get Ready With Me" video, Medeiros shared details of her dad's successful music career, which saw him achieve gold and platinum records and tour over 40 countries after winning a singing competition at just 16. However, his passion extended beyond the stage. Medeiros explained that her father always aspired to be a teacher. After his music career, he pursued this dream, earning a bachelor's, master's, and ultimately a doctorate in education. Fittingly, his first teaching role was as a music teacher. Medeiros also shared a heartwarming detail about her parents' meeting: her father was judging a singing competition where her mother worked as a waitress. "They said they saw each other and it was love at first sight," Medeiros recounted, adding that her parents have "truly shown me what true love looks like." The video also highlighted the family's deep-rooted value for education. Medeiros, currently pursuing an MBA concurrently with her law degree, noted, "My dad always had a love for education growing up... he also emphasized to my brother and I all throughout our lives how important education is."
