Bear Cub Rescue: California Wildlife Refuge Uses Unique Method
In the heart of California, a heartwarming rescue unfolds. A two-month-old orphaned black bear cub, discovered weak and hungry in a forest on April 12th, is given a second chance at life. Caretakers at a wildlife refuge have implemented a unique approach – dressing up in bear costumes to feed and care for the cub without disturbing its natural instincts. "It's crucial to minimize human contact," explains a wildlife expert. "We want to ensure it retains its fear of humans and can successfully reintegrate into the wild." The cub, initially underweight and unwell, is now thriving under the 24/7 care of the San Diego Humane Society. This method, previously used with panda cubs in China, proves to be highly effective. The video footage shows the tender care the cub receives, highlighting the dedication of the rescuers. Once the cub reaches 12 months, it will be released back into its natural habitat, a testament to the successful conservation efforts.
