Malaysian Group Urges TikTok to Ban Trend Cited for Cyberbullying
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – A social media trend known as "PK Battle" has sparked concern in Malaysia, leading to a formal request for its ban. The Peace Revolution Society recently delivered a memorandum to the Istana Negara, the official residence of the King of Malaysia, urging authorities to take action. The memorandum highlights the negative impact of PK Battle, citing instances of cyberbullying and a decline in social morals. Shahzanar Mohamad Ramzi Shah, a representative of the society, stated, "The memorandum aims to seek intervention regarding the PK Battle trend, which has become a craze among young people and contains many negative elements." Authorities are now reviewing the memorandum and considering the concerns raised about the trend's potential to harm young people. This situation underscores the growing need for responsible social media usage and content moderation, particularly to protect vulnerable demographics.
