Devastating Fire at Penang Goat Farm Claims 19 Lives

Nineteen goats perished and four vehicles were destroyed in a devastating fire that engulfed a livestock farm in Kampung Jawa, Bayan Lepas, Penang, on June 2nd, 2025. According to John Sagun Francis, the Operations Assistant Director of the Penang Fire and Rescue Department, the emergency call came in at 12:58 PM. "We received a distress call about the incident," Francis stated. Firefighters arrived to find the farm's structure and several vehicles ablaze. The fire was successfully contained by 1:07 PM, but the farm was 90% destroyed, with only one goat surviving. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are currently under investigation.
