Malaysia's King Receives Briefing on Legal Reform Progress Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – June 3, 2025 – Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim today received a briefing at Istana Negara on the progress and future plans for legal reforms in the country. The briefing was conducted by a special task force headed by Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform). The meeting, which lasted almost an hour, focused on the task force's achievements since its inception in January 2023. According to sources close to the meeting, the discussion centered on the process of amending and improving existing laws to better serve the needs of the nation. The reforms aim to improve the clarity and effectiveness of the legal system and address challenges stemming from outdated or irrelevant legislation.
