According to Datuk Ir Ahmad Izram Osman, the Deputy Director-General (Operations) of the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM), only 5,801 (62.2%) out of 9,321 premises had valid Fire Certificates (FC) as of March 2025. The remaining half of the year will be dedicated to ensuring all relevant premises obtain the necessary FCs. The report serves as a critical reminder of the importance of fire safety regulations and the need for consistent compliance to prevent potential tragedies.
