Perak Launches Ambitious Digital Economy Plan and Smart City Blueprint The Malaysian state of Perak took a significant step towards economic modernization and technological advancement with the recent launch of its Perak Digital Economy Action Plan 2030 and the Perak Smart City Blueprint 2040. The event, held on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, saw the unveiling of detailed strategies aimed at transforming Perak into a digitally driven and technologically advanced state. The Digital Economy Action Plan 2030 is built upon four key pillars. These are improving access to quality digital infrastructure, enhancing the efficiency of public administration through digital means, fostering a thriving digital business ecosystem, and empowering the community through digital literacy programs. The plan's comprehensive approach aims to address various aspects of digital transformation, ensuring a holistic and sustainable impact on the state's economy. The Smart City Blueprint 2040 complements the Digital Economy Plan, providing a roadmap for urban development that incorporates smart technologies and sustainable practices. This blueprint envisions a future where technology enhances the quality of life for Perak's citizens, making the state more livable, efficient, and resilient. "The launch of these two documents marks a crucial step in Perak's journey towards achieving the goals outlined in the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan," said Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, the Menteri Besar of Perak. "They will play a vital role in helping Perak contribute to Malaysia's vision of becoming a Smart Nation by 2040."
