The accident involved a Perodua Alza car and a bus carrying 42 UPSI students. The collision happened around 1 AM on June 9th, 2025. Nurul Ain, a teacher at SK Tembak, Kuala Ketil, suffered broken ribs. Her daughter, Nur Aisyah Nafisah, sustained a broken leg. Nurul Ain's husband, Muhammad Lufti Razif, a teacher at SK Merbau Kedah, was also in the car and sustained minor injuries. "It was a horrific scene," said a witness who declined to be named. "The car was completely mangled. Emergency services were on the scene quickly, but it was clear many lives were lost." The accident is currently under investigation.
