Major Fire Engulfs Bolton Industrial Estate
A major fire broke out in Bolton, England on Thursday, May 22nd, at approximately 9:50 PM, engulfing an industrial unit on Adelaide Street in the Daubhill area. The incident required a significant response from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, deploying eight fire engines and specialist units, including an aerial unit, a scorpion, and a turntable ladder. The fire produced large plumes of smoke, leading to the closure of the A579 St Helens Road and Adelaide Street in both directions. Residents in the vicinity were advised to keep their doors and windows closed. A spokesperson for the fire service confirmed the road closures and stated that firefighters remained on the scene to dampen down the area. "St Helens Road was closed in both directions while crews worked alongside partners to contain the large fire, which produced a lot of smoke," the spokesperson said. The fire continued into the early hours of Friday morning and was eventually brought under control by the emergency services.
