Astro Originals Unveils "Honey Trap": Malaysia's First Espionage Thriller Promises Unpredictable Suspense
KUALA LUMPUR – Astro Originals has officially launched its highly anticipated new drama series, "Honey Trap," marking a significant milestone as Malaysia's first espionage thriller. The series is a spin-off from the previously acclaimed political thriller, "Kudeta." During the launch event, scriptwriter Syakir 'Mo' Zakii highlighted the distinct nature of "Honey Trap" compared to its predecessor. "Kudeta was a political thriller, political drama. But we have shifted away from that narrative," he stated. Director Imran Sheik elaborated on the creative process, emphasizing the show's unique approach to storytelling. "The process was in the writers' room where all writers discussed. We want the DNA of the show where people keep guessing what happens next," Imran explained. He added, "We want to make sure we are always anticipating what will happen, and if I'm not mistaken, if we execute this correctly, you will guess what will happen until the last episode." "Honey Trap" promises to deliver a gripping narrative centered around a genius female agent, aiming to keep audiences on the edge of their seats with its intricate plot and unexpected twists. The series is set to premiere on Astro One and the sooka application.
